Commissioning work for churchyards, cemeteries and gardens.
Requesting a headstone can feel daunting, with much to consider. You might have a firm idea of what you are looking for or you might want me to help you formulate a design. However you wish to proceed, I can give you guidance through the whole process from design, cemetery/churchyard restrictions to a finished stone.
A memorial in a graveyard or cemetery might not be for everyone. Perhaps you might want to keep something you can remember your loved one by, in a special place. You may wish to take a memorial with you if you move.
I can make small memorials that are easy to move and clean, and keep close to you anywhere you go.
I put my heart into every memorial I create. I will collaborate with you to come up with ideas and designs that resonate deeply, to honour the memory of your loved one.
Commissioning
Meeting
In our initial meeting we discuss the wording required, the style of lettering and the size, shape and type of stone that's suitable. No price estimate will be given at this stage.

Design & Estimate
I will then send you a some sketched designs, and an estimate for the work. Once a design has been agreed (and permission has been granted by the parish church in the case of a memorial), I will send a scaled, final drawing for your final approval. I will then ask for 50% of the estimate so the stone can be ordered.
Carving & Completion
As soon as the stone arrives (this can take up to 16 weeks), I'll draw the design onto the stone, ready to carve. You are welcome to visit at any time to see how your stone is progressing. If you are unable to visit, I'm happy to send photos by email or post.
When the stone is completed I will arrange a fixing date.
